“When you become hopelessly mired in a sentence, it is best to start fresh …”

— William Strunk, Jr., and E.B. White, Elements of Style

How This Editor Can Help You

  • As writers, we all become hopelessly mired in sentences from time to time, just as Strunk and White said in the quotation above from their classic guide to good writing, Elements of Style.
Alas, on occasion, we can’t figure out how to start fresh, so we all need editors to fish us out of those verbal swamps!
  • Whether your writing is quite polished or still needing some fresh starts, I’m here to help you bring it to a level that will delight your readers and your publishers.
  • I always respect your voice and style, never imposing my own voice and style on your work.
  • All suggested changes I make to your manuscript are subject to your approval. After all, it is your book, so you need to be satisfied with the edits.

Who I Am

I’ve been a freelance editor for decades and have won the Tom Fairley Award for Editorial Excellence for editing and project management of Tom Axworthy and Pierre Elliott Trudeau’s Towards a Just Society.
I’ve worked in trade and educational publishing (fiction and nonfiction) with all types of authors. Some have been famous Canadians and some have come to me with their personal manuscripts, still looking for a publisher.
So if you’re just starting out or if you’re a seasoned author or publisher, I’d be happy to offer you my services.
